L-R: Jun Han, Debbie Stothard, Jason Roshan, me
Met up with Jason Roshan from the AIPMC (Asean Inter-Ministerial Myanmar Caucus), and Debbie Stothard (ALTSEAN) on Monday night after their conference. We presented our work on Refugees SG so far, and explored ways which the 2 efforts could complement each other. Roshan is from Kuala Lumpur and is the secretariat for the AIPMC, and was in Singapore for a meeting with various ASEAN think-tanks. Stothard is a key spokewoman for Aung San Suu Kyi, and has worked with the refugees for almost 20 years.
Refugees SG started out humanitarian in nature, and somehow over the past 7 days we’ve seemingly diverged from our original purposes. I rethought the direction of the movement, and I think we’ll be making contacts with NGOs who help these refugees and exploring how something can be done in real means.

First contact: ASEAN
